What is Gynecomastia?

What Are the Benefits of Gynecomastia Surgery?

Male breast reduction surgery can give men the masculine chest they long to have. It removes the enlarged breasts, restoring masculinity and self-confidence. By restoring balance to the chest, it allows clothing to fit properly and for men to have a more masculine physique.

Who is an Ideal Candidate for Gynecomastia Surgery?

Men who suffer from enlarged breasts that are unable to reduce their size or appearance through diet and exercise are ideal candidates for gynecomastia surgery.

What is the Procedure for Gynecomastia Surgery?

Performed in our nationally accredited on-site ambulatory surgery center, Coastal Surgery Center, located in Jacksonville, FL, gynecomastia surgery takes place under local or general anesthesia. Our surgeons will use a combination of liposuction and tissue removal to create a flat, masculine chest appearance. Incisions are usually made under the arm and around the areola to reduce the appearance of scars. Surgery can take anywhere from one to four hours.

What is the Recovery for Gynecomastia Surgery?

Following male breast reduction surgery, patients will need to wear a compression garment to help their newly contoured chest heal. If only liposuction was used, recovery is a bit shorter than if glandular tissue was removed. Strenuous activity should be avoided.

How Much Does Gynecomastia Surgery Cost?

Male breast reduction varies considerably between patients and a specific breakdown of all applicable costs for your procedure will be discussed during your consultation. Financing will also be discussed at this time.
